Senior Portfolio Analyst / Portfolio Analyst
Are you ready to make your impact?
The opportunity
Do you want to have a direct impact on company performance? Are you curious by nature, and motivated by digging deep and understanding data and problems? Do you want to create insight for the company and be the voice of reason?
At B2 Impact, we offer solutions to the challenges created by defaulted loans. A vital part of our investment business is to analyse current and potential debt portfolios, with the aim of identifying profitable investment opportunities and improvement areas in our own portfolios.
We are now expanding our Portfolio Analytics team to increase our investment analysis and drive profitable growth. You will play a key role in our future success by making sense of data and generating valuable insights. You will work in an international, high-profile team, analysing portfolios for investment opportunities and supporting the whole B2 Impact Group across Europe. If you listen to your peers, offer support, and have the courage to voice constructive ideas for improvement, you could be the perfect fit!
What you will do
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, innovator, and voice of reason. You will, among other things, contribute to:
- Be the lead analyst on portfolio investment opportunities (valuations) in close collaboration with other business professionals and present your analysis to decision-makers and senior management
- Develop and improve our analytical capabilities
- Review and learn from previous purchases, and share the insight with peers and stakeholders.
As a Portfolio Analyst, you will also participate in and support Group and local projects, in areas ranging from data and analytics to risk and investment. You must be prepared to deliver executive presentations, perform in-depth client, industry, market and competitor research and participate in investment processes, providing analytical support.
Key skills and qualities we're looking for
- Good collaborator, positive, critical and curious team member
- Master’s degree in an analytical and/or quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Data/Decision Science, Finance, Economics, or related field)
- Minimum of 2 years of analytical experience
- Programming skills (Python, R, SQL or similar) and understanding of database technologies
- Experience in predictive forecasting, advanced statistical, machine learning (ML) and AI models and techniques
- Good communication skills, especially in explaining complex technical problems to non-technical stakeholders.
- English language proficiency. Knowledge of an additional language (e.g. Polish, Spanish, French, or one of the Nordic or Baltic languages) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
How we'll enable you to make an impact
The Portfolio Analytics team is transitioning towards a more centralised, data-driven, matrix organisation where we perform investment valuations and analysis across borders. Portfolio Analysts are highly visible throughout the organisation and are a sought-after resource. It can become quite hectic at times, especially during seasonal peak periods for investments. Other times it can be more quiet allowing for in-depth analysis and research, model building and development for continued improvement.
There are opportunities to grow both as an individual contributor, in management, and in other areas of the company (operations and analytical) as well as geographically. You’re encouraged to take an interest in development and growth, with B2 Impact supporting and guiding you to reach your goals.
This is a role that can be located at any of our office locations in Europe, but preferably in Madrid (Spain).
